JACKIE ROBINSON (1919 – 1972)

American Baseball Player and Activist

Robinson was the first African-American to play Major League Baseball, debuting in 1947. He won the league’s Most Valuable Player in 1949. His general character and breaking of the colour line influenced the Civil Rights movement. His uniform number, 42, was retired across all MLB teams.

Ventura was a wrestler for the WWF during the 70s and 80s, after which he acted in films such as Predator alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger. He then entered politics and became Mayor of Brooklyn Park in 1991 before being elected Governor of Minnesota in 1999.
